How can a university run networking at a business event without a new system?
By giving attendees one link to open in their browser. Students and companies join without installing anything, in English or Finnish, browse who is at the event and reach out to the people they came to meet. The university orders Kohtaa for that event only, with no long-term contract.

What do these events look like?
Business evenings, innovation-centre events, demo days and partner events: students, staff and companies in one room, with little time to find the right people. Many attendees prefer to use Finnish, which is why the attendee side is available in both languages.
The organizer is usually a small team, not a software buyer. They need attendees to meet each other without learning a new tool, and they need the purchase to be simple to explain. Kohtaa is priced per event and ordered by the organizer, with the published price and the invoice terms stated up front.
What does Kohtaa add to a university business event?
Join by link, in Finnish or English
Attendees open one link in their phone browser, with no app and no app store account. The attendee side is available in Finnish and English: joining, the attendee list, profiles, meeting requests and the agenda. The organizer side is in English only.
More about Join by link, in Finnish or EnglishProfiles that carry across events
An attendee's profile and their progress toward the 7 Points of Contact continue from one event to the next, so the next event does not start from zero.

Attendees can export everything held about them and delete their account at any time, or let it be erased automatically 7 days after the event. A short data notice written by the organizer is shown before they join.

How does event size affect how you buy it?
In some institutions, an event above a certain size can trigger a separate internal purchasing process, which is more work for the organizing team whatever the price. Kohtaa is bought per event, so you can see the price for your size up front: Medium is 100 EUR for up to 100 attendees, Large is 950 EUR above that, and Annual is 3,900 EUR per year, VAT included.
Payment is by invoice, before or after the event, due 14 days after the invoice date, with no long-term contract. For a pilot where the institution collects no personal data itself, Kohtaa is the data controller, and the answers a data-protection reviewer asks for are in the procurement pack.
Frequently asked questions
Do students need an account with an app store?
No. Kohtaa runs in the browser, so there is no app to download and no app store account. Students join with the event link and sign in with an email link, Google or LinkedIn.
Is the organizer side in Finnish?
No. The organizer side is in English only today. The attendee side is in Finnish and English: joining, the attendee list, profiles, meeting requests and the agenda. The organizer chooses the default language for the event, and each attendee can change it for themselves. Some messages, such as emails, are still in English.
Can we reuse attendee profiles at our next event?
An attendee's profile lives on their own Kohtaa account, so when they join your next event they do not start from scratch, and their progress toward the 7 Points of Contact carries across events. Each event has its own attendee list.
Can an attendee delete their data after the event?
Yes. An attendee can export all their data and delete their account at any time from their account page, or choose to have the account and personal data erased 7 days after the last event they are attending ends. Erasure removes personal data; an anonymous record that two people connected at an event remains.
How many attendees can Kohtaa handle at once?
Kohtaa has been measured at 300 concurrent attendees at a single event on live production, with a mixed workload on one server. Medium covers up to 100 attendees and Large covers events above that.
