What Kohtaa collects, and why.
Kohtaa collects only what your event needs. When you join an event, you provide a name, role, and (optionally) a goal, photo, and contact details. This information is visible to other attendees at that event and no one else.
Kohtaa stores your relationship data permanently: which events you attended, which meetings you confirmed, which endorsements you gave and received. This is the trust graph. It belongs to you. You can download all of it at any time under GDPR Article 20, or delete it entirely under Article 17.
Kohtaa is hosted entirely on EU infrastructure: Hetzner in Finland, application and database alike, with no third-party database subprocessor. No data ever leaves European jurisdiction. Kohtaa uses no third-party analytics services: we operate a minimal in-house analytics system that records page views and product events. No IP addresses, device identifiers, or user agent strings are stored, and no cookie banner is required.
If you submit an organizer upgrade request, we also capture the IP address it was sent from. This is kept only to investigate abuse of that specific form and is not linked to your normal use of Kohtaa.

When you sign in we store your name and email address. When you fill in your profile we also store your job title, company, industry, what you are looking for, a short bio, and an optional photo. Every meeting request, confirmation, and endorsement you make is stored as part of the event connection record. If you submit an organizer upgrade request, we additionally store the IP address it was sent from, for fraud and abuse prevention.
Processing is based on legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): connecting people at professional and networking events is the core purpose of Kohtaa, and storing the connection record is necessary to provide that service. You can withdraw at any time by deleting your account. The IP address captured on organizer upgrade requests is also processed under Article 6(1)(f), on the separate legitimate interest of preventing fraud and abuse of that form.
Your name, role, company, and profile fields are visible to other attendees of the same event. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. We use the following processors:
Kohtaa uses no third-party analytics services. We operate a minimal in-house analytics system that records page views and product events. No IP addresses, device identifiers, or user agent strings are stored. No data is shared with any third party for analytics purposes.
Your data is retained until you delete your account. After deletion all personal data is erased immediately. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. The one exception is the IP address captured on an organizer upgrade request: it remains on that request record for fraud-prevention purposes even if the submitting account is later deleted.
